Are you ready for the New Year? Well, hang on because we only have a few more days until 2018! If you’re looking to ring in 2018 right, there is no better way than to Skip the Strip! Las Vegas is undoubtedly a destination for New Year’s Eve festivities, but here are a few reasons your best bet isn’t on the 4 mile stretch of the Strip.
1. Best Place to Watch the Fireworks
While one of the best fireworks displays in the country is right here in Las Vegas, sometimes it’s better to watch all the fireworks on the Strip from afar. Find an elevated parking garage and enjoy the view from the top floor. Make sure to dress warm because the fireworks show will last from 8 to 10 minutes.
2. Best Place to Kick Start Your New Year’s Resolutions
Before the New Year’s parties, food and champagne, kick start your New Year’s goals with a 10K/5K/1M Resolution Run at Kellogg-Zaher Park. This is a great race for walkers and runners alike, and strollers are welcome. The race begins at 4 p.m. so there’s plenty of time afterward to get ready for the rest of your evening festivities. Finishers will get a shirt and a finishers award.
3. Best Place to See a New Year’s Eve Show
There is no shortage of high caliber entertainment in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve, but this year The Smith Center brings renowned Emmy and Tony winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth to the stage. An electrifying, high-energy performance featuring Chenoweth’s powerhouse vocals backed by the extraordinary talent of her five-piece band, this special evening will showcase the stage and screen star’s wide-ranging repertoire and dazzling personality.
4.Best Place to Celebrate Early with the Family
Celebrate Noon Year’s Eve at Town Square Las Vegas from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Festivities will include an inflatable slide and rock wall, bounce houses, face painting and balloon artists. A DJ from 98.5 KLUC will mix the music for a dance party as everyone counts down to noon. At noon, ring in the New Year with a flavorful juice box toast and balloon drop.
5. Best Place to Try Something New
Ring in the 2018 New Year with BLACKOUT “Dining in the Dark.” Enjoy a complete sensory experience while you enjoy your entire meal in a pitch black dining room. For guests that are dining when the clock strikes midnight, they will be able to join in on a very special BLACKOUT countdown.
But, if you are looking for a place for the locals, Silverton Casino is your off-Strip NYE party headquarters.
Parking
Parking has undeniably become a nightmare for those who aren’t used to paying to park, even locals have reached the limit on their grace period, and everyone will have to fork out for putting it in park anywhere near most properties. Silverton Casino always has free parking and valet available, as well as a Lyft Lounge for those waiting for their ride.
